About this Product Full Product Name

Amongst the Continental Army were several thousand everyday men who had left home to fight for their rights alongside the regular army. This militia had been fighting since the beginning of the war for independence, and along the way earned the honor of being known as 'Minutemen'.

In 1925, the Mint decided to do something special for the 150th Anniversary of the first two Battles of the Revolutionary War: The Battles of Lexington and Concord. This coin is special for two reasons:

One: It is one of the few coins honoring the brave militia who played an integral role in the Revolutionary War.

Two: It is the ONLY half dollar minted by the U.S. Mint that year! No 1925 Walkers were ever created -- the only other half dollar struck in 1925 is the expensive and hard to find Stone Mountain.

The obverse of the coin depicts the typical American Minuteman standing on guard and at the ready. The reverse of this special half dollar is graced with an image of the Old Belfry at Lexington.

Their mintage was incredibly small at just 162,013 -- and when you combine that with the fact that there are no 1925 Walking Liberty Half Dollars in existence, you get one of the best half dollars of all-time!

Each 1925 Lexington-Concord Silver Half Dollar will arrive in collector's quality circulated condition and in our Defender Holder
