2018 National Park Quarters
In 2018, the United States Mint persisted with the America the Beautiful Quarters Program, unveiling five new designs that celebrated the nation's awe-inspiring National Parks and other significant sites, showcasing the diverse beauty and rich history of the United States. The first quarter of 2018 honored Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in Michigan, featuring the park's iconic Chapel Rock and a white pine tree, symbolizing the breathtaking landscapes and geological wonders of the Great Lakes region. The second quarter paid tribute to Apostle Islands National Lakeshore in Wisconsin, showcasing the sea caves at Devils Island, along with a kayaker navigating the waters, representing the park's remarkable natural features and recreational opportunities.
