This special 1971 Error-Strike Silver Eisenhower Dollar in NGC PR69 condition is a truly rare piece -- and you don’t need to take our word for it, just take a look at the numbers (as of 2-20-2024): ​

​Total 1971 Brown Pack Mintage: 4,265,234 vs. NGC PR69 or better: 4,635.

But they are even harder to find in PR69 with the Peg-Leg Strike: just 687 total.

That means just 0.016% of all 1971 Silver Proof Ike’s exist in this grade or better with this error-strike.

The 'Peg-Leg' Error Strike is a reference to the strike of the word 'Liberty' on the coin -- specifically the bottom of the 'R' and the lower left bottom of the 'E' in the word.

The appearance of the 'R' in the 'Peg-Leg' strike is skinnier than usual with no 'caps' on either side.

The appearance of the 'E' in the 'Peg-Leg' strike has the bottom left corner missing completely.
