About this Product Full Product Name

On President's Day Weekend 2007, the U.S. Mint introduced the Presidential Dollars. Experts believe this will be the BIGGEST & most successful coin series in U.S. History. Even more popular & more exciting than the State Quarter Program! It's the first coin collection honoring all non-living Presidents. Each President will be featured on a unique golden-colored coin. One side will show the President, while the other side depicts the Statue of Liberty. The Presidential Dollar will also incorporate unique edge lettering featuring the Year of Issue, Mint Mark, "In God We Trust, and "E Pluribus Unum."

FOUR Presidential Dollars will be struck per year, each issue for only 3 months, then never again. Making each dollar limited!

The dollars feature edge-incused writing. The last time this process was used was on the St. Gaudens. However, unbeknownst to the public, the United States Mint has released 2 major varieties of the Franklin Pierce coins...one with "Right side Up" and one with "Upside Down" edge writing!

This roll pair contains William McKinley Presidential Dollars, one each from the Philadelphia and Denver Mints.

Each 20-coin roll will contain coins bearing the Inscriptions "IN GOD WE TRUST", "E PLURIBUS UNUM", the Mintmark and the Date...all Upside Down!

PRESIDENTIAL FACT:
The last President to have fought in the Civil War and the third President to be assassinated, William McKinley began a long career in politics at the age of just 34 in 1877 in the U.S. House of Representatives. He also served two terms as Governor of Ohio. The key event in his Presidency was the Spanish-American War in 1898, which resulted in a resounding American victory and was the start of an overseas U.S. empire when Spain ceded Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Philippines. The United States also acquired Hawaii and American Samoa during his Presidency. McKinley was reelected in 1900. On September 6, 1901, he was shot while attending the Pan-American Exposition.
