The 2020 Proof Silver Eagle was released earlier this year at the West Point Mint to massive collector demand, in large part due to the design change that will be taking place next year. Thanks to this design change, these Proof Silver Eagles are sure to become must-own pieces in the Silver Eagles series – but they will not be the most sought after Proof Silver Eagles released in 2020!

That iconic status will be held by the special WWII Anniversary 2020 Proof Silver Eagles that were struck at the West Point Mint! These Proof Silver Eagles are sure to become some of the most sought after in the entire series – because they are the FIRST EVER Silver Eagles struck with a ‘Privy-Mark’ by the U.S. Mint!

We are proud to announce that we have a very small number of these WWII Anniversary 2020 Proof Silver Eagles still in their original government packaging from the U.S. Mint!

The Silver Eagle holds a special place in every collection because it has one of the most beautiful coinage designs ever produced! The design is a true classic that first appeared on Silver Half Dollars from 1916-1947. In addition to this special design, it also hits our Silver Dollar Tri-fecta: it is the largest, heaviest, and purest silver coin in U.S. history.

It is rare in the Silver Eagle Series for there to be a true-blue U.S. Mint first – and this one is truly in a league of its own! To honor the 75th anniversary of the American victory in WWII, the U.S. mint decided to do something it had never done before: they added a Privy-Mark to an American Silver Eagle!

This makes the 2020 WWII Anniversary Proof Silver Eagles one of the most important pieces in the entire series – and that is before you take into account how incredibly rare these coins are! The U.S. Mint will only be striking 75,000 of these special silver eagles in total – making it one of the rarest Silver Eagles of all-time!

That is right! These WWII Privy Mark Silver Eagles are more than 2 ½ times rarer than The San Francisco Proof Silver Eagle released earlier this year with set mintage of 200,000!

The silver eagle has been a constant in collecting for more than 34 years since its debut in 1986 and this year, 2020, marks the final Silver Eagle struck with the same reverse that we have grown to love. Starting in 2021 the United States Mint will be re-designing the reverse of all Gold and Silver American Eagles to incorporate the use of anti-counterfeiting technology into the coins!

The only addition to the traditional design of this 2020 Silver Eagle was a small ‘V75’ Privy-Mark that was added to honor the 75th anniversary of the United States emerging victorious in WWII!
