About this Product Full Product Name

Last, but certainly not least, the coin struck by the U.S. Mint in 1926 to honor the 150th Anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence: the 1916 Sesquicentennial Silver Half Dollar.

The U.S. Mint made this special release silver half dollar for the International Fair held in Philadelphia in 1926. The coin's design was a U.S. Mint first and last -- a portrait of a U.S. President that appeared on a coin struck during his own lifetime!

The design featured both President Calvin Coolidge and George Washington on the obverse, with the reverse featuring the iconic Liberty Bell.

They would strike just 141,120 of these special silver half dollars -- pushing it up into the rankings as one of the rarest in U.S. Mint history!

Each 1926 Sesquicentennial Silver Half Dollar will arrive in Uncirculated condition and in our Defender Holder.
