Marcus Piavonius Victorinus

A soldier of considerable ability who hailed from Gaul. He held the title of Tribunus Praetorianorum (tribune of the praetorians) in 266/267 and rose swiftly to become Co-Consul with Postumus in 268. After the death of Postumus, he orchestrated the murder of Marius (the Usurper of Postumus) and took over as Ruler. He would rule for a short while, until he himself was killed by one of his soldiers whose wife he attempted to seduce.
