This is something truly special -- these bronze leptons known as the iconic 'Widow's Mites' from the bible were struck between the years 59 and 62 A.D. under the rule of Porcius Festus. Festus was the 5th Procurator of Judea who infamously ruled that Paul the Apostle must go to Rome and stand trial before the Roman Emperor Nero, as was his right as a Roman citizen (this was instead of staying and being tried by the Jewish leaders in Judea).

Did You Know? A procurator was a position that combined the two roles: that of a governor and that of a judge.
