The Carson City Mint hit the ground running in the Morgan Dollar series -- striking its first coins during the very first year of issue in 1878.
That year, the little Carson City Mint would strike a grand total of 2,212,000 total Morgan Dollars!
Yet despite striking well over 2 million coins, very few would survive the test of time -- don't just take our word for it, take a look at the population numbers today:
As of today (04-30-2024) NGC and PCGS have certified a combined 74,670 total 1878-CC Morgan Dollars -- in ANY condition whatsoever.
That means just 1 in every 30 coins struck still exists today.
That is just 3.37% of the entire mintage!
Each 1878-CC Morgan Dollar will arrive in collector's quality Uncirculated condition and will be in our Defender Holder.
