The 3rd Rarest Carson City Morgan Dollar Ever Made
This is one of the kings-of-the-hill when it comes to Morgan Silver Dollars -- the 1889 from the fabled Carson City Mint.
They would strike a grand total of just 350,000 total coins at the Carson City Mint in 1889 -- the 3rd rarest from the little Nevada Mint and the 7th rarest Morgan Dollar by mintage in the entire series!
Thanks to their low mintage, they were immediately popular with collectors, but over the years they have become almost impossible to find -- and their population reports reflect it:
(NGC and PCGS Population Report as of 03-26-2024)
1889-CC Mintage: 350,000 vs. just 16,653 total coins in ANY condition at all.
That's just 1 in every 21 coins struck.
Just 4.7% of the entire mintage!
Each 1889-CC Morgan Dollar will arrive in collector's quality Circulated condition and in a Defender Holder.
