About this Product Full Product Name

One of the most sought-after Quarters in U.S. History – the ‘Type B Reverse’ Washington Quarters!

There are few quarters in U.S. Minting history that are harder to find than the elusive ‘Type B Reverse’ Washington Quarters! The ‘Type B Reverse’ strike started to appear in the later 50s and early 60s at the Philadelphia Mint… in large part due to the fact that the Philadelphia Mint used to strike the Proof Quarters as well as the Uncirculated!

When one of the Uncirculated Quarter Dies broke the Philadelphia Mint decided to save money and re-use the Proof Die without the polish (instead of purchasing a brand-new UNC die). The end result was two-fold: they created a much cleaner strike with a higher profile, while also displaying a spacing difference in the ‘E’ and ‘S’ in “United StatES” and the ‘A’ in “DollAr” touching a leaf of the wreath beneath the eagle. The Denver Mint did not create any ‘Type B Reverse’ Washington Quarters – as the Philadelphia Mint was the only mint to strike Proof Quarters during this time-period.

A True Collecting Rarity – the ‘Type B Reverse’ Washington Quarter in PCGS Certified MS65!

All of the ‘Type B Reverse’ Washington Quarters that we found were from 1959 and 1960 – the early days of the ‘Type B Reverse’ strike… and when you take a look at their numbers in PCGS MS65, you can see just how rare these coins truly are!

1960 Washington Quarter’s total mintage: 29,164,000 Vs. 299 known ‘Type B Reverse’ in PCGS MS65

That breaks down to just 1 in every 97,538 coins! (Less than 0.001%!)

These are truly some of the rare Quarters you can find in collecting today!
