1976 Bicentennial Quarter Set - 5 pc

When asked about Silver Quarters most will reply they haven't been issued by the US Mint since 1964 .. and they would be correct! However, few remember that for the Bicentennial Celebration ( 1975 - 1976 ), the US Mint released a "Special" collector quarter made out of 40% Silver. It features design we remember .. it was the image of the colonial drummer facing left. It was also the first dual dated coin in US Mint History with 1776 - 1976. Two versions were made at the San Francisco Mint .. an Uncirculated and Proof edition...neither of which were released into Circulation.
