To commemorate Benjamin Franklin’s service to this country’s firefighters, Congress authorized the 1992 Benjamin Franklin Firefighters Silver Medal as a way to honor his contributions and those of the brave men and women who keep us safe every day. The coin’s obverse was designed by Thomas D. Rogers and features a strong portrait of Benjamin Franklin behind an original Union Fire Company hat. The reverse, by T. James Ferrell, depicts a modern day firefighter climbing down a ladder, with a rescued child clutched in his arms.

The 1992 Benjamin Franklin Firefighters Uncirculated Silver Medal is not only a great addition to a US Mint collection, but also an exquisite reminder of the courageous firefighters who risk their lives for us each day.

This is an uncirculated coin and includes the original US Government packaging with certificate of authenticity.
