In 1992, the US Mint issued a first, a NEW Silver issue to Celebrate the 500th Anniversary of Columbus discovery. These Quincentenary issues were made in Uncirculated condition at the Denver Mint with the Proof Edition struck in Philadelphia. The obverse features a full-length figure of Columbus beside a globe, with his ships in the back ground. The reverse is a split image of the Santa Maria and the Space Shuttle Discovery. This is the Uncirculated version and comes in original government packaging.
