Issued to commemorate the 100th anniversary of establishment of the Gettysburg National Military Park in 1895. The US Mint released a Half Dollar, Silver Dollar, and $5 Gold.

The Half Dollar's obverse is of a Civil War drummer boy, with the reverse a Battlefield scene with the inscription "Enriching Our Future By Preserving Our Past."

These were made in Uncirculated condition at the Philadelphia Mint with Proof editions struck at the San Francisco Mint. This Uncirculated half dollar comes in original government packaging.
