The 1st-ever Dual-World Mint Set in U.S. Mint history
This special set contains one 2003 Silver Eagle and one 2002 Britannia and would end up having a total mintage of just 50,000 sets.
Not only is this set the first of its kind in U.S. Mint history, it is also one of the rarest Silver Eagle sets ever made
But that is not all -- there is also something a bit... 'different' about the 1oz silver Britannia in this set.
While officially the coin was released as 'Uncirculated', when you take a look at the coins in person you notice that it isn't your typical Britannia -- the coin has a finish that looks like what we now call today 'Reverse Proof' condition!
This made it one of the most popular sets released in 2003. It holds a special place for Silver Eagle collectors as well because it would not be until 2006 when the U.S. Mint would release their first-ever Reverse Proof Silver Eagle.
Each 2003 Legacy of Freedom Collection will arrive with both coins still in the Original Government Packaging.
