About this Product Full Product Name

The US Army was founded in 1775, over 235 years ago. On December 1st, 2008 President Bush signed into law the "United States Army Commemorative Coin Act" which authorized the US Mint to pay tribute to the founding of the U.S. Army.

A US Mint 1st

Over the years the US Mint has issued a number of coins in tribute to military events or people ... such as the 1925 Stone Mountain Half Dollar, the 1936 Battle of Gettysburg Half Dollar, the 1937 Battle of Antietam, the 1991 Korean War Memorial, the 1993 WWII 50th Anniversary, and many others .. but these NEW coins are a US Mint 1st! A special coin paying tribute to the Army...

Three Special Coins

The Three denominations also signify the Army in its 3 primary roles: The $5 Gold ( Service in War ), the Silver Dollar (Modern Service ) and the Half Dollar ( Service in Peace ).

The theme of "Modern Service" features the busts of a male and female soldier, symbolizing worldwide deployment of the 21st century U.S. Army. The reverse symbolizes the seven core values of the U.S. Army ... The seven being: LOYALTY, DUTY, RESPECT, SELFLESS SERVICE, HONOR, INTEGRITY and PERSONAL COURAGE. The design features an image of the Great Seal of the United States, worn on Army dress and service uniforms since the early 1800's.
