2015 Perth Mint Deadly Series - Bull Ant - 1oz silver

The colorized $1 Australian Bull Ant coin is one of the latest releases from the Perth Mint. This proof struck coin is the tenth coin in the Deadly and Dangerous series.

On the reverse of this 1 oz silver Deadly and Dangerous coin is a colorized image of a fierce Australian bull ant. This image is very large and makes the ant take up almost the whole reverse of the coin. The bull ant is standing on a leaf, and other bull ants can be seen behind. These ants in the background, however, are not colorized. Above the Bull ant's head can be seen the words: "AUSTRALIAN BULL ANT".

The obverse of this Australian coin is a portrait of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. This highly detailed engraving was designed by Ian Rank-Broadley, one of the world's foremost sculptors working today. This portrait has appeared on all UK and Commonwealth coinage since 1998. The obverse of the coin has also been inscribed with the words "ELIZABETH II", "TUVALU", "2015","1 DOLLAR", as well as the initials of the artist, "IRB".
