The World Trade Center Anniversary Collection: The 2011 Silver Medal PCGS PR69 w/ America's Heroes Memorial

The terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001 will go down in history as one of the deadliest attacks on American soil and have become a watershed moment for everyone who was alive to witness the atrocity. A decade later on the 10th anniversary of the attack, the United States Mint produced a special silver medal honoring all those who were lost and the first-responders who selflessly ran towards danger in the hopes of saving their fellow Americans. We have come across a small handful of incredibly rare September 11th Memorial Collections each containing one of these medals.

The medal's design was crafted to be emblematic of the courage, strength, and sacrifice of all those who perished and risked their lives that fateful day. The Obverse of the coin design displays Lady Liberty holding aloft the Lamp of Remembrance, with the two memorial light beacons striking skyward behind her outstretched arms. The Reverse of silver piece depicts an Eagle, symbolizing the strength of the survivors and the families of the lost, against the backdrop of cascading water.

A Collection Honoring America's Heroes: In Near-Perfect PR69

A limited number of these silver 2011 9/11 National Medals were certified by PCGS as Deep Cameo Proof 69 condition...out of a total mintage of 109,365 produced at the West Point Mint, just 4,170 are known in PR69 or better condition (that's under 4%)! But wait, were not done yet! An even smaller number of these certified Deep Cameo PR69 were packaged in the wonderfully produced "America's Heroes: Stories from Today's Armed Forces" World Trade Center 10th Anniversary Memorial.

This massive September 11th memorial provides an in depth look at the days and years that followed that fateful day in September. In their own words, you will gain a glimpse into the daily lives of the soldiers and humanitarian aid workers stationed both at home and the world over doing their part to help humanity. This special collection also contains real-life photographs from around the world, a special 'Service Scrapbook', and a forward written by retired Brigadier General Daniel J. Kaufman!
