ANOTHER SECRET !!

The United States Mint also issued a small number of Silver Proof Eisenhower Dollars in 1971 as well. These deep mirror proofs make an excellent addition to your first year of issue collection.

When the United States Mint in San Fransisco struck the .400 silver coins, it actually created two different versions: Proof and Brilliant Uncirculated. So as not to confuse the silver coins with the circulation-strike copper-nickel coins, they were issued exclusively to collectors in unique packaging..

These are the Proof Silver Dollars. Proof coins are the highest quality possible, because each coin is struck at least twice under tremendous pressure. This brings out the polished mirror background and high-relief details.

Both of the Blue and Brown packs were struck each year from 1971-1974. None were minted in 1975, due to the fact that the U.S. Mint was preparing for the Bicentennial issue. Due to the high cost of silver, it is unlikely that the Ike Dollar will ever be struck again, in silver.

All Eisenhower Silver Dollars (Proof and Unc) were struck at the San Fransisco Mint and bear the "S" Mint mark above the date on the obverse.

Mintage of these Silver coins were very small.

The Eisenhower silver Dollar is the only US Mint issue Silver Dollar struck honoring one of our Presidents...get yours today!
