About this Product Full Product Name

The Morgan

The Morgan Dollar is considered by many to be the "true" coin of the fabled Wild West, partially due to its colossal failure to circulate well in the North and the East. Made of out nearly 1 full ounce of .900 pure silver from the famous Comstock Lode silver discovery in Nevada, which sparked the silver rush of 1859. It was struck from 1878 through 1904, and then again for one final year in 1921.

In addition to a short production period, and minimal circulation, many of these coins are no longer in existence due to the Pitman Act of 1918, which resulted in the melting down of almost 300 million Morgans!

The Atlanta Hoard

Weren't we surprised to find, in Atlanta of all places, a treasure trove of New Orleans Mint Morgans! All of a brilliant white character, and certified by NGC as Mint State 63.

This Morgan dollar was struck at the New Orleans mint - the only Southern Mint to strike the Morgan Dollar! It's production lasted from 1879-1904. This Mint produced only 24.66% of all Morgan dollars issued. The New Orleans Morgan Dollar bears the "O" Mint Mark, which can be located on the back of the coin below the Eagle.

The 1904 New Orleans Mint Morgan dollar has an original mintage of 3,720,000.

This coin has been independently certified and graded as MS63 by NGC, and will come presented in a black pouch.

This rare and historical coin won't be available for long, so act fast!
