The United States America the Beautiful Quarter Program
The 2011 Gettysburg Quarter is the sixth coin in the United States America the Beautiful Quarter Series. The series began in 2010 and honors one national park from each of the 50 States as well as Washington D.C. and the five territories.
This second year of releases will include: Gettysburg, Glacier, Olympic, Vicksburg & Chickasaw. . There will be 5 Quarters released each year. Like the State Quarters, each quarter will be minted from the Philadelphia and the Denver Mint. The obverse design showing George Washington remains unchanged, while the reverse design reflects the National Park that is being honored.
The quarter's reverse depicts the 72nd Pennsylvania Infantry Monument at the battle line of the Union Army at Cemetery Ridge is the central focus of the design. Surrounding inscriptions include "Gettysburg", "Pennsylvania", "2011", and "E Pluribus Unum".
This is the Philadelphia and Denver Set, graded by ANACS as a Mint State 67.
