Anna May Wong Quarters
Anna May Wong was the first ever Chinese-American film star in Hollywood, and gained international fame and recognition for her work. Her illustrious career saw her perform in a number of different mediums, from silent films to sound films, to television, stage, and even radio. Her TV show ‘The Gallery of Madame Liu-Tsong’ was the first ever U.S. show to feature an Asian-American lead character! During WWII she famously let her acting take a back seat, focusing all of her time and money to gaining support for the Chinese people in their fight against Japan’s invasion.
Anna May Wong was the fifth woman honored in the American Women Quarter Series from the United States Mint and was the final coin of the 2022 series.
