Nina Otero-Warren Quarters
Nina Otero-Warren was a famous suffragette, educator, and politician who created an expansive legacy through civil service and her work in education, politics, and public health. She was the first ever female government official in New Mexico when she served as the Sante Fe Superintendent from 1917 to 1929 and was also the first woman of Latin-American descendant to run for Congress in U.S. history in 1922.
Nina Otero-Warren was the fourth woman honored in the American Women Quarter Series from the U.S. Mint.
